GLP-1 (ozempic, zepbound, etc…) as treatment alcoholism

There has been reporting and subsequent medical research of patients having a curious side effect when using GLP-1 weight loss medications…namely the complete absence of a desire to drink alcohol. No cravings whatsoever. It is being written about on message boards, discussed in AA meetings and reported in medical research.

Although it is not FDA approved for this indication, that doesn’t mean that it has a novel effect that is only now being discovered - that medicines work for unintended desires is a tale as old as time.

If you or someone you love has struggled with alcoholism, has failed other treatments (such as naltrexone or acamprosate), this treatment may be worth a trial.

My membership patients have access to compounded GLP-1 medications as these, for discounted rates. If you are interested, schedule a visit on my website.
